Cropsolution closes on $5 million in a Series B financing round

Cropsolution, Inc. has closed its second financing round, totaling $5 million. The round was co-led by The Aurora Funds and ATP Capital with participation from other investors.

“We are delighted to have achieved critical milestones and secured additional financing.  We have attracted investors that understand the value proposition offered by Cropsolution,” said CEO Eric Ward.  Jeff Clark, General Partner for The Aurora Funds, the co-lead in the round said “Cropsolution has one of the best teams we have seen. The progress they have made under tough conditions is outstanding.”  

Cropsolution discovers and develops novel agrochemicals for protecting crops from diseases, insect pests, and weeds. Crop protection chemicals are a $28 billion market worldwide, and constitute an essential part of global food and fiber production. Cropsolution discovers proprietary compounds, demonstrates their efficacy in the field, and then seeks development partners among the first tier multinational agrochemical manufacturers.

Cropsolution uses proprietary technologies (Targeted Biology™ and Evolutionary Chemistry™) that permit the rapid synthesis and selection of biologically active molecules.

Cropsolution has 19 employees and laboratory facilities in Research Triangle Park, NC and Silicon Valley, CA.
